Creating a vision board has definitely been a step in the right direction to achieving the lifestyle that I desire. Knowing all the opportunities that life has to offer and all of the beautiful sights and sceneries that are waiting to be discovered, how could you not want to compose your own dreams, create your own goals and aspire to manifest them all to come true?

For the longest time, the visions in my head kept roaming around in my thoughts and showing up in my day dreams. I had all these goals and aspirations that I kept saying I was going to complete but instead of tackling, I let myself become overwhelmed and just couldn't get a grip on any of them. What really helped me, was really sitting down to figure out everything that I desired and one day, I decided to stick them all in one place that I could physically see.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A VISION BOARD?
* A VISION BOARD is simply a physical, visual representation of a bunch of displayed images (typically in a collage form) of photos, quotes, or anything that inspires you that relates to or symbolizes a desired outcome that you want to have or bring into your life.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A VISION BOARD?
* THE PURPOSE OF A VISION BOARD is to:
(1) Give you a sense of Clarity.
(2) Give you Motivation.
(3) To Keep you in check.
By having a visual representation that you can physically see at hand or displayed in a frequently seen place in your room or your home, will be a reminder and clear note to self of what you are striving for. There's just something powerful about reflecting on all of your goals and aspirations by putting them down in one designated place. It really gives great satisfaction and a strong sense of self-reassurance.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
* Creating a vision board is a very popular project because of the purpose that it serves. It is not just an empty canvas that you just slap a bunch of things on for aesthetic purposes or a simple diy that you just display for decoration in your room. Remind yourself that you created it to serve you and that it has a greater purpose.
* Do not make it a "one and done thing." Once you've made your vision board, do not let it just sit around and collet dust. Actually put it to use and use it frequently. Refer to it when you make positive affirmations, meditating, journaling, or even when you're not feeling the best or up to speed.
* Make sure that the images or quotes that you choose trigger the right emotions and that each representation has an actual meaning.
4 ESSENTIAL TIPS TO HELP YOU SERVE YOURSELF RIGHT WHEN CREATING YOUR VISION BOARD:
1) DIG DEEP.
What I mean by this is that you need to ask yourself what exactly are the things that you really want and when you have them, what exactly are those things going to do for you?
Here are a few example questions to ask yourself to stir up your thought process and your emotions:
- How do you imagine yourself feeling?
- What is the purpose for it?
- Will it make you a better person?
- Will it make you a better version of yourself?
- Will it create more abundance?
- Will it help you serve others?
- Will it bring you peace?
- Will it bring more fulfillment and joy?
And those are only just a few things. Figure out what speaks to you.
2) PRIORITIZE.
As you plan out your ideas for your vision board, you're probably running into a rut of having so many ideas being scattered all over the place whether you're planning on a piece of paper or just thinking about them and they're overwhelming your head. If this is you, don't sweat it. This is a good thing. When you have so many things to think about and consider, this just shows you that you are stimulating your awareness of all the possibilities that are rightfully open to you. There could never be too many goals or dreams that a person could have. The sky is the limit. However, I would recommend you to narrow it down by getting specific with the things that you want. Prioritize the main points. You'll automatically know what those points are when you just think about them and you get an instant rush of joy and an inner knowing that communicates to you, that you'll experience the most fulfillment when that thing is achieved.
3) BE SPECIFIC.
Don't hold back on getting too personal and don't settle for being generic with your ideas. Everyone wants to be fit, be healthy, travel the world, be successful, and those are just a few. Instead, personalize these essential ideas by specifying how they apply to you. Instead of just listing "to be fit" try saying, "I want to build more muscle and get toned." Instead of just listing, "to be healthy" you could say, "I want to consume more fruits and vegetables and increase my water intake." If you want to travel set your mind on the top five countries you would want to visit. If you want to be successful, determine how exactly you want to do that through the career path of your choice or a hobby that you'd like to see grow into more fruition. Start off with your "What" and follow up with that by determining the "How."
4) ORGANIZE.
Organizing your ideas will be extremely helpful when seeking out your images and determining their placements. The best way that I recommend organizing everything is to divide your ideas into different categories of your desired lifestyle. For example, the categories that I wanted to focus on for my vision boards were, (Travel, Creativity, Wellness, and Goal Focus). Organizing my ideas into categories also made my planning process go a lot faster because I was able to clearly see where each idea fit and clearly see their importance and their intentions.
Don't over think it, don't settle for perfection, have fun, dream big, be as expressive, creative, and authentic as possible. Now, GO CREATE!!!
